The Democratic Party of Sandoval County proudly presents Sheila Lewis of Santa Fe NOW

Sheila Lewis, the Vice President of Santa Fe NOW, is a retired criminal defense attorney with extensive experience working at the New Mexico Legislature. She has served as a bill analyst for the House Judiciary Committee, appeared as an expert witness and advocated for legislation on behalf of a variety of non-profit advocacy groups. She is currently working with New Mexicans to Prevent Gun Violence training law enforcement and community groups on how New Mexico’s Extreme Risk Protection Order law can be used to prevent mass shootings and suicides.

Santa Fe NOW focuses on issues surrounding reproductive justice, wage equality, and violence against women. Santa Fe NOW is a longtime, active member of the New Mexico Coalition for Choice. We engage in citizen lobbying during each year’s New Mexico legislative session and participate in monthly Coalition meetings to develop policies and strategies for further access to abortion and reproductive health services. We meet by zoom on the first Tuesday of every month. Our meetings are posted on nowsantafe.org
