The Democratic Party of Sandoval County’s May 2024 Second Saturday meeting will feature presentations from the three Democratic Candidates for the Sandoval County Commision:
Josh Jones Sandoval County Commissioner District 5 (Incumbent)
After serving in the Air Force for over a decade, Josh received his B.A with a concentration in entrepreneurship and is currently pursuing his MBA. Josh worked for then Congressperson and now Secretary of the Interior, Deb Haaland as a Field Representative.
As a current proud small business owner, Josh owns his own consulting firm and is partnered with the Service-Disabled Veteran Consulting Group while raising four children with his wife, Shavonne. Josh has also served on the Sandoval County Planning and Zoning Commission and in 2022 Josh was appointed as the County Commissioner for District 5. “After leaving the military, my mission is to serve Sandoval County. I am ready to work with everyone that is willing to collaborate with me to build a better City for us all and become the best city in New Mexico.”
Madigan Ray (Candidate Sandoval County Commissioner District 4)
is a champion for the working class, women, the LGBTQ+ community, and progressive values. She has experienced a varied career path, from food service to accounting and everything in between that has given her unique insight into the challenges of today’s working class. She has a degree in Theatre, which she puts to use with the Rio Rancho Players, and currently works doing Payroll for a national gym. Madigan has been politically active for most of her life, fighting injustice and bigotry from an early age. She’s running for Sandoval County Commission to represent those who don’t see someone like them in any level of government and to be a voice for real progress on housing, unions, the climate, and social justice. She lives in Rio Rancho with her spouse and two dogs, Harley & Loki.
Beau Sandoval (Candidate Sandoval County Commissioner District 2)
I believe in a government that works for everyone, a government that provides for the poor, works for working families, makes sense for the middle class, stands up for senior citizens, innovates in the inner cities, strengthens suburban communities, helps the heartland, and revitalizes rural America. I also fervently believe in the strength of our diversity; while we may have come over to this country on different ships, we’re all in the same boat now. I want to heal our divisions and work to cultivate meaningful conversations so we can approach each other as neighbors and New Mexicans.
