Candidate New Mexico State Auditor Joe Maestas
Joe Maestas is currently serving as the Public Regulation Commissioner representing District 3. I have worked to protect taxpayers from utility disconnections during the pandemic and now focus on helping bring federal aid to those in need. Establishing rules to make solar energy accessible, affordable and reliable has been a primary focus. I’ve also led the charge to expand broadband services to badly needed rural and tribal areas, using the broadband funding in the State Universal Service Fund. As a specialist in transportation and water resources, taxpayers can be confident that I will help lead our state through an historic, equitable transition to a clean energy future. https://www.maestas4nm.com
Candidate New Mexico State Auditor Zack Quintero
Zack is a graduate of UNM School of Law and NMSU with degrees in economics and government and holds a Juris Doctor in law. Zack has served New Mexico on local, county, state, and federal government levels. Recently, Zack was appointed by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham as the Federal Ombudsman for New Mexico where he investigated abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation on behalf of our seniors, adults with disabilities community, and veterans. Before serving as the Federal Ombudsman Zack served on the Medical Advisory Team and worked for various law firms specializing in administrative law and civil rights. zqfornm@gmail.com
