Trump’s Middle East debacle causes prices to skyrocket
Albuquerque- As Donald Trump’s deadly and costly war with Iran continues with no end in sight, data from the Senate Joint Economic Committee reveals that New Mexican households have spent $523 more on gas since the start of Trump’s unpopular and unnecessary war with Iran.
According to the AARP, today’s average gas price in New Mexico of $4.04 is higher than the national average of $3.94.
The Democratic Party of New Mexico released the following statement:
Donald Trump’s clumsy and costly war with Iran continues to drive up costs for New Mexican families with no relief in sight. While Trump spends hundreds of millions of dollars on vanity projects and wine-and-dines his billionaire buddies, New Mexicans are forced to break the bank to make ends meet. As Trump turns his back on the working class, Democrats are fighting hard every day to lower costs and make life affordable for all families.
Working New Mexicans were already being squeezed amid high costs caused by Trump’s reckless tariffs and failed economic agenda, and this war has only worsened the affordability crisis hammering families. Since it began, Trump’s unpopular war in Iran has cost Americans over $1,000 per household and and $132 billion overall.
It’s undeniable at this point in the Trump presidency – New Mexicans got the opposite of Trump’s “no new wars” and lower prices “on day one” campaign trail promises.
