The Sandoval County Clerk’s Office provides a wide variety of government services, from issuing marriage licenses to recording legal documents on property in Sandoval County, including deeds, maps, plats, and transfers. The Treasurer’s Office collects, accounts for, and protects property tax and non-property tax revenue, as well as managing $61 million in investments. The Treasurer’s Office distributes our tax dollars to several county programs, including Fire and 911 Services, Schools, Libraries, Roads and Infrastructure, and Public Safety. Linda Gallegos has served since 2019.

The Sandoval County Assessor’s Office determines the property value of homes, businesses and other taxable properties within the county for ad valorem tax purposes. The office also prepares the tax rolls for the County Treasurer for real property (land and improvements), personal property (business equipment), livestock and mobile homes. The Assessor’s Office also lists and maintains the records of all real and business personal property located in Sandoval County. The office mails notices of property valuation, assists taxpayers in claiming exemption and maintains correct property ownership based on documents filed with the County Clerk’s office. Jesse James Casaus has served since 2019.

The Sheriff’s Office provides law enforcement, court security and animal control services to residents of Sandoval County. The office serves legal documents issued by District and Magistrate Courts and is responsible for transporting prisoners, both adult and juvenile, in and out of Sandoval County and is also responsible for extradition of prisoners arrested in other States. The Sheriff’s Department serves as the County’s principal law enforcement agency with duties and responsibilities established by State law. The Sheriff assigns deputies into four districts within the County to deter criminal activity, arrest criminal offenders, promote traffic safety, and respond to emergency calls.
